SOLID! is one of Norway’s premiere organ trios, comprising three of the country’s finest young jazzmusicians. SOLID! was voted “Young Jazzmusicians of the year 2002” by the Norwegian Jazzforum and the Norwegian Concert Institute. They also won the grand prize in the Getxo International Jazz Contest in Spain in 2003, aswell as winning both the soloist prize and the ”audience’ favorite-prize”.
　　The trio’s repertoaire consist mainly of guitarist Bj?rn Vidar Solli and organist Daniel Formo’s original compositions. Just back from a successful tour of Nepal and India, SOLID! has just released their latest album on Jazzaway Records, an album consisting of all original music including two prize-winning composistions by Solli and Formo. On the album SOLID! varies between hard swinging jazz to more open and subtle soundscapes. And although the albums main feature is the crisp and exciting improvisations of guitarist and bandleader Solli, this is very much a group effort with loads of musical communication and interplay.
　　Daniel Formo’s fresh and original sound combined with the elegant touch and incomparable drive of H?kon Mj?set Johansen, makes SOLID! one of Norway’s most impressive jazz outfits.
