In April 1958, the Parisian press reported a highly mediatized event that took place at the Eglise Saint-Louis des Invalides: the recording of the Berlioz Requiem by Hermann Scherchen. Because of the very high costs, expenses were shared by the American label Westminster, the French label Véga and the French Radio, each making the recording according to its own techniques. Véga published this recording only in the mono version, Westminster in its mono-stereo version. DGG-Universal licensed us the rights to release (for the first time on CD) the stereo version of this famous recording.
