With Psapp now signed to the proper big-wig Domino , 'The Way We Do It' is a chance to see where some of their sound evolved from; combining Galia Durant's delicious vocals with the creaking tinkle of 'Mr L's' accompaniment. Recorded when Team LG were an actual-factual couple, 'The Way We Do It' could have turned into a peeping-tom exercise, with the listener perpetually eaves-dropping on in-jokes and loved-up sentiments. However (and whether this is down to hindsight I don't know) this is patently not the case; with Team LG hoisting forth an album that more than matches 'Tiger My Friend' for thrillingly moreish charm. A creaking beast of rattling rhythms, squeaking percussion and cascading instrumentation, songs like 'Jesus in a Show' and 'Words Run Dry' patter forth like an afternoon dream, presided over by Durant's hazy vocals and Mr L's crackling production. Elsewhere, 'Lliffe Morning' is tantalising glimpse of candle-lit piano, 'Big Man' etches its refrain of "I tried, tried to shake the thought..." over a plodding selection of viscous electronica, whilst 'Over and Out' is a heartbreaking ode to the end of a relationship. Beautiful.
