Rounder Records has been one of the top recording comparnies for bluegrass music and their "vaults of hit records" are overflowing. This compilation is an excellent sampling of their catalog and bluegrass music as well. All of these songs placed in the top ten of Bluegrass Unlimited magazine's surveys and include the classic hard-driving sound as well as the more contemplative contemporary sound. There are many examples of excellent lead and harmony singing and virtuoso instrumental leads of banjo, guitar, mandolin and dobro.
