Keren Ann Zeidel, who records under the name Keren Ann, was born in Israel in 1974, and grew up in Israel, Holland and Paris. When she was nine her parents bought her a guitar, on which she learned to play songs by Joni Mitchell and Serge Gainsbourg. She moved to New York in 2005 and is already critically acclaimed across Europe and in the US. Nolita is performed in both English and French, and is the perfect introduction to a new audience. Described as 'beautifully melancholic', Keren Ann's music has drawn comparisons with the styles of Chet Baker, Billie Holiday, Mazzy Star and Velvet Underground to name a few.
