Portland Oregon’s NU SHOOZ returns with PANDORA’S BOX – a full length album in their latest incarnation as the NU SHOOZ Orchestra, a ten piece ensemble Gil Evans would have loved.
PANDORA’S BOX is the latest stop in the continuing journeys of band leaders Valerie Day and John Smith. “The NU SHOOZ Orchestra is our experimental music laboratory” Day says. The album combines elements of 60’s spy music, film noire, jungle movies and more, along with their signature brand of funk; deadpan, sophisticated, jazzy.
