Recorded earlier this year with producer Donny Cooper (Cursed, Chore, Hoosier Poet) at Burlington, Ontario's B-town Sound, Hazy Skies is just as challenging lyrically as it is musically, with vocalist Kevin Sheeler unafraid to speak his mind in his prose.
"Hazy Skies over Martha's Vineyard represents the sudden and unexpected demise of the 'American Golden Boy' John F Kennedy Jr," says Sheeler of the album's thematic slant. "It is the feel good story of the year with the dramatic twist. In a similar breath our local western 'golden boys' or 'chosen ones' meet this demise mentally when they come to the bitter realization that they are leading a life that was laid out for them. The frustration that their mind, feelings and perhaps creativity have all been pushed aside. Many of the songs/themes on the record deal with this epiphany and the struggle to fight back after years of neglect."
