Often compared to JETHRO TULL, because of the folky/classical/fusion mix and flute lead, DELIRIUM were typically Italian and particularly excellent on their 2nd & 3rd albums (after the departure of singer Ivano Fossati) playing a complex progressive full of invention. The group mixes classical music and rock with a rare success; superb long tracks with many breaks, wonderful flute & heavy Hammond organ flights & beautiful vocals.
After releasing an album of pleasant folk rock ("Dolce Aqua"), DELIRIUM adjusted their lineup slightly and delivered a true classic of Italian progressive rock. A second album "Lo Scemo E Il Viaggio" is purportedly better, with more fusion creeping into their sound. The follow up, "Delirium 3", is also highly recommended...
