专辑简介

Ever since 2007’s operatic anthem, “Viktor Casanova”, for Claude Von Stroke’s Mothership imprint, Italoboyz releases have been highly anticipated but none more so than “Bla Bla Bla”, the duo’s debut long player.
Otherwise know as Marco Denato and Federico Marton, Italoboyz have used the past two years to tour the world and create outstanding releases. This drive has seen them play at the likes of Fabric and Tokio’s Wire festival and release on landmark labels such as Get Physical, Treibstoff, Safari Electronique and Einmaleins.
Those of you familiar with Italoboyz music will be aware of its roots in the fusion of organic with electronic sounds and the collision of genres as varied as jazz, opera and folk with what we traditionally know as house and techno.
“Bla Bla Bla” explores the Italoboyz commingling aesthetic wonderfully, and as such is fittingly opened with a collaborative track, “Where is London?”, alongside innovative French act Masomenos.
From the epic 12 minutes of minimal/tango of “Where is London?” which is aptly punctuated with samples of Big Ben, “Bla Bla Bla” swiftly draws you in further into Denato and Marton’s world with the whispering vocal and 808 workout “Taka Taka Tashhh” and the excellently oddball “Chinese”.
The John Coltrane sampling (a legal first, no less) “Bahia” rubs shoulders with more laid back Jazz inflected numbers such as “Edo Breiss” and “Oh Mio Dio” via the searing, classic techno vibe of “Techno Tower” and “Taka Taka Tashhh” which makes for a constantly evolving listen.
Perhaps inspired by Marco and Federico’s initial move to London, or the swift shift into success as DJs and producers, it’s this movement of sounds and ideas which really makes “Bla Bla Bla”. Nothing stands still and the artists influences are translated beautifully to the listener while still producing a contemporary dance music long player, which can be summed up by the mesmerising, mournful closer of “The Pink Unicorn” (live in Tokyo) ?— a track which, without a kick drum or electronic sounds, still sounds “house”.
The brilliant “Bla Bla Bla” is released late-September on Mothership.
