Glass onions is the brainchild of Alec Cuddeback, who wrote all songs on their initial cd. Taking three members of the heavy metal band "Infinite Madness", Cuddeback formed a combo which plays its original songs in the British Invasion era style of the rock bands of the 1960s, like The Beatles, Herman's Hermits, The Searchers, plus American bands like The Turtles and Gary Lewis And The Playboys. Glass onions' songs are melody-oriented, with the same type of lead guitar riffs that exemplified the style of 1960s rock groups. Four local radio stations in the Finger Lakes area of New York state have been playing cuts from the cd since it was released in December of 1998. Comparisons have been made to not only The Beatles, but Roy Orbison, and even the contemporary sounds of Barenaked Ladies.
