One Sunday afternoon a few years back, a group of songwriters got together to share their thoughts and ideas, and to hopefully inspire/intimidate one another into writing new, great songs. An idea was offered up by the host of the event that each of us should take home the phrase "wrestling with angels" to see what ideas it might inspire. When we came back together a month later, we discovered that many of us had created songs filled with rich undertones and deep introspection. What I discovered was that I was the only shmo who used the phrase literally. Oh well. Go figure. What WRESTLING WITH ANGELS and those get-togethers inspired in me was a desire for connection, a need to share with others my thoughts and feelings about those issues most important to me: love, family, friendship, and the questions surrounding why we are here and where we might be headed.
