Filling out the disc is the more familiar 1937 Sonata for 2 Pianos & Percussion, often nominated as one of the greatest chamber works of the twentieth century. ??kos Hern??di and K??roly Mocs??ri became acquainted as youths when they both studied at the Franz Liszt Music Academy, and for some years enjoyed highly successful careers as soloists and teachers. A few years later, they formed their equally successful duo, performing widely throughout Europe.
