This collection printed by the London publisher Walsh in 1742 bore the following title: "Six Concertos Set for the Harpsichord of Organ Compos'd by Signor Giovanni Adolfo Hasse..." The version on this recording was discovered by the publisher in the Herzog August library at Wolfenbuttel. In Hasse's time, only Bach, Walther and Krebs wrote idiomatic works specifically for the organ.
