The Other Side / El Otro Lado is a fusion of Argentina's traditional music, both tango and folklore, with jazz overtones--along the lines of what the great Astor Piazzolla used to do. This project was born in 1997 out of the artistic encounter in Boston, MA, of Argentine vocalist Katie Viqueira with Uruguayan composer Nando Michelin. The CD features songs by great Argentine composers (Astor Piazzolla, Eladia Blazquez, Mariano Mores, Peteco Carabajal and others) with highly creative arrangements and a superb vocal interpretation.
