Beefcake signed to hymen records at the label's very beginning (back in 1997) and earned critical praise for their first vinyl appearance, Y003. Which was an extract from the 's.h.c.' tape. so this 12" was a 'stand-alone' product and this is in contrast to the follow-up 'in medias res'. 'in medias res' can be seen as an 'add-on' to beefcake's first cd 'polycontrale contra punkte' (released in 1998). Now, for the first time on CD, you can enjoy the deleted Y003 and Y024 - plus two new unreleased beefcake tracks! not a simple 'compilation', more an overview of beefcake's development from 1997 to 2002.
