One of the most important figures in contemporary Brazilian music, Barbara Mendes has a repertory that covers a range from contemporary musica popular brasileira and bossa nova to dance electronica. Making her first steps in Brazil, she then moved to New York and from there on to Europe, appearing in many jazz clubs and festivals.
Mendes' voice stands out for its power and its ability to express a wide range of emotions. It is due to her voice on the one hand and her rich music heritage on the other, that Barbara Mendes has gained a distinct position in jazz clubs and festivals around the world.
From October 10 to 16 she makes a stop in Athens to appear at Half Note Jazz Club, the place where she had recorded her first live album.
