This is a great 3 CD package. Blaze are known for soulful house and garage and this selection is a great representation of what you could expect if you caught Kevin Hedges DJing live. The track selection covers afrobeat, vocal house and some solid dubs and the programming is 1st rate. In my opinion this is far better than the MAW collection. CD3 provides a non mixed selection of classic Blaze written or performed tracks - the stand out tracks being Funky People and Black Rascals. Certainly worth buying if you like your house on the soulful side...
If Masters at Work are the Commanders in Chief of Soulful House, Blaze are the Generals. Youve already experienced some of thier best LP's on this site, but heres a selection of tunes that they appreciate in a Soulful House vein. This Box Set is hard to get, and one of the reasons is the third disc which contains extended unmixed versions of some of their own tunes including the classics!
