Call of the Prophets is a CD collection of nine dramatic tone poems composed by Emmy Award winning composer Thomas Bramel. The music was inspired by the Writings of the great Swedish scientist and mystic Emanuel Swedenborg.
Each piece creates a new world for us to travel through. This is music designed for listening - NOT sleeping. It explores the purity of a child's voice, the savagery of driving percussion, the sweet angst of solo 'cello, the nobility of the horn, the flirtation of the playful piccolo, and the authority of God's voice.
Bramel uses his experience in film music to paint vivid portrayals of mystical scenes. Hell opens before our eyes, children play on heavenly hills, prophets offer their wisdom to those in darkness. We glimpse life on other planets and life in the most ancient times on Earth. We visit beautiful celestial gardens and enter villages where true innocence resides.
