The history of the Membran has started in the early 90’s and a true friendship up today has given birth to it. Balázs Pejkó and Ferenc Papp met Pál Séfel (DJ Cadik) then and started to establish their musical vision together. The basics of their limitlessly open world are the jazz and the hip hop, which are implemented by the engineer knowledge and the love of electronics.
The music of the Membran is mediated by dj Cadik. Among dj Palotai, he is the resident of the famous underground musical club night in Budapest the ‘Rewind’. Cadik’s programs ‘Totoya Club’ and ‘Jungle Book’ have been broadcasted by the Tilos Radio for many years now.
In the Membran’s special world of sound the acoustic instruments are settled as well as the electronic tools. That is how the ‘party-tunes’ and the slower beats with a unique style are created.
On the debut album titled ‘Closed’ 30 tracks can be found by the compilation of the last 10 years of their work. On the electronic beats many instruments are featured such as Jew’s harp, Cimbalom, Saxophone, or Sitar and others. Moreover several great vocalists gave their voice to the beats like Dudley Perkins, MC Dynamite, MC Det, Blu Rum 13, and MC Zeek.
The Membran often works on motion picture’s music and have recently won the Best Original Soundtrack at the Hungarian Film Week, which was composed for ‘Happy New Life’ directed by árpád Bogdán.
