Sweet Bossa is a compilation of bossa nova covers of Burt Bacharach tracks, celebrating Bacharach's fiftieth anniversary. Instrumentation here is often light, and a bit jazzy -- and the overall structure and arrangements of the tunes is quite different from Burt's original conception -- which makes the record a really fresh take on his music. Singers are both younger and older bossa vocalists from Brazil -- and titles include "Close To You" by Ana Martins, "This Guy's In Love With You" by Carlos Lyra, "On My Own" by Daniel Jobim, "Alfie" by Miucha, "The Look Of Love" by Sammy Alves, "April Fools" by Ana Luisa, and a very cool "Bacharach Medley" by Folia De Tres.
