First given in 1734, L'Olimpiade contains several numbers of great lyrical beauty. The Clemencic Consort is an ensemble of international artists. It performs in variable combinations of instrumental forces depending on the respective program, and is directed by its founder Ren?? Clemencic. The group dedicates itself to the interpretation of early music from the Middle Ages to the Baroque, playing on historical instruments. The Clemencic Consort gives concerts all over the world, and at the most important music festivals. Countertenor G??rard Lesne (b. 1956) is one of today's outstanding singers of Early Music. His amazingly versatile career began as a rock singer until he joined the Clemencic Consort in 1979.
