The songs, instrumental or not, put in motion some kind of moments of poetry, fragile and true, unrolling the reel of a contemplative film where time would be suddenly meaningless. As if Manuel Bienvenu, without make-up or camera, had wanted to write and to shoot his hidden stories, his emotions and his dreams. The disc points out Robert Wyatt, the first times of Chicago’s post-rock scene (Tortoise or Isotope 217), or the work of Ennio Moriconne for the Italian independent cinema. Elephant Home is a multiple faces record, at the same time simple and obvious as the most stripped songwriting can be. An album patiently handmade like the precious and fragile box of an infinitely rich but deeply humble music.
