Like a lot of late-’60s rockers, husband-and-wife team of Jim Post and Cathy Conn came out of the folk scene (the Chicago folk scene, in this case) to score on the charts with this album’s title cut, which was adopted as something of an anthem by the protest movement during what was indeed a "dark" time for American politics.
