Does have effect in 2008 to compose an album in more pure tradition of Italian sixties beat?
At a first listening to this "Fiore Nero", the second album of no more young 'The Cavemen' for Teen Records is still a bit puzzled in front of verses as' ... 'tutti per uno, balliamo lo shake!'.
But then, when we try again, stay conquered from the aggressiveness and sincere attitude with which Michael Biondi, Matteo Lamargese and c. can of the tricky undertaking reactualize a genre so 'seasoned, mainly due to mother language.
And especially the impact of fuzz-guitars, just to make this small miracle, languid at times rabid vocals of the two in "Fiore Nero","Io Sto Qui", "Non Mi Odiar", "L'ora delle Streghe", and in the slow and nostalgic "Sogno" and "Il lungo Addio" (with vintage keyboards in a stunning evidence), among the peaks of the disc.
Definitely the tasty instrumental Mexicali, a sort of hard-surfin 'with the trumpet of Diego Frabetti.
Three covers of far sixties complete "Fiore Nero": the most famous 'La Lezione del Capellone" of Michel Polnareff, "Il Treno della morte" (The Jaguars) and "Prima c'era la Luce" (New Trolls), all reinterpreted with that personal imprint that permeates all the disc.
The Label of this disc is "Teen Sound" of the more famous "Misty Lane" Magazine of the Italian Massimo Del Pozzo.
Thanks to this guy in Italy the 60's garage scene is growing more and more..
