Having already recorded the most significant body of wind quintet music ever--the complete Reicha quintets--the Albert Schweitzer ensemble now approaches the smaller body of Danzi's work. Danzi's quintets are smaller and slighter than Reicha's, but they have good tunes scattered throughout and they use the woodwinds with great ingenuity. Even if you consider them mere entertainment music, Danzi's quintets are fun, and the Schweitzers play them with the same dedication and expertise that marked their Reicha series. --Leslie Gerber
