Volume 1 includes Kevin McMahon's Gemini Award-winning film The Music Garden with garden designer Julie Moir Messervy and Bach's Cello Suite No.1; and the Gemini and Emmy Award-winning The Sound of the Carceri, a film by Fran?ois Girard inspired by Giovanni Battista-Pieranesi's carceri (prison) etchings and Cello Suite No.2.
Volume 2 features Falling Down Stairs, a dance set to Bach's Cello Suite No.3 by choreographer Mark Morris and filmed by Barbara Willis Sweete; and Sarabande, a dramatic film by Atom Egoyan scored with Suite No.4. Both selections received Gemini Awards.
Volume 3 combines Struggle for Hope, Niv Fichman's sensitively documented collaboration between master Kabuki actor Tamasaburo Bando and Yo-Yo Ma's performance of Bach's Fifth Suite; with Six Gestures, Patricia Rozema's mesmerizing film featuring world champion ice dancers Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean, which received Emmy and Gemini Awards and the Montreux Golden Rose and UNDA Prizes.
