Sunaga T put together this cool little collection -- a set of Japanese and European club jazz tracks, all dedicated to the groovy sound of the Lupin The Third cartoon! Lupin's been getting the rework treatment since the 90s -- in a bevy of dance, soul, and jazz-based projects -- but this one's probably the best, as it's got a classic cooking sort of groove -- almost as if the original cartoon came with sweet soul jazz and hardbop groovers from the 60s and 70s! Most numbers are instrumental, and mostly acoustic with straight jazz instrumentation -- and all numbers were written by Yuji Ohno. Titles include "Samba Temperado" by Gerardo Frisina, "Theme From Lupin The Third" by Soil & Pimp Sessions, "Fire Treasure" by Tr4th, "Toward The Patrol Line" by Fabrizio Bosso/Max Ionata Quartet, "Love Theme" by Ego Wrappin & The Gossip Of Jaxx, and more variations on "Theme From Lupin The Third" by Five Corners Quintet, Sunaga T Experience, and Christian Prommer's Drumlesson.
