Battle of the Year，即通常所称的BOTY，是一个始于1990年的一年一度的全球性breaking街舞系列赛。这是一个团体（相对个人来说）赛事。地区资格赛 ——相当于预赛——在世界范围内举行，各区胜者将会参加于德国布伦瑞克的大众汽车大厅里举行的终极对决。Battle of the Year被认为是世界上最早的breaking赛事，也常常被当做是breaking界的世界杯。Battle of the Year创造了“底层的全球化空间，让人们聚在一起穿越了地理，语言，竞技的障碍”。Benson Lee曾拍摄过一部纪录片《B-Boy星球》（《Planet B-Boy》），让人们看到了参加Battle of the Year的是怎样的一群人。“BOTY越来越国际化，这意味着它越来越受欢迎。这也令比赛地点的资格要求变高，使每年BOTY参赛团队中出现了更多的关键人物。他们的目标之一就是凝聚那些有积极性的年轻人们。这是很有必要的，因为想达到所有的要求已变得越来越难。”2010年全球总决赛将在法国蒙彼利埃竞技场举行。
