在今年來秋, Decca 将会发行另一些新发现的 门德尔松 管弦乐作品：计有第三 e小调钢琴协奏曲, 及 " 苏格兰 "交响曲的好些从未公开过的版本。这专辑将由 里卡尔多 夏伊( Ricardo Chailly ) 指挥 德国 莱比锡 布业大厅乐团( Gewandhausorchester Leipzig )。并再次由 Roberto Prosseda 担任协奏曲的钢琴独奏部份。他其实早在去年, 与加拿大卡加里爱乐团( Calgary Philharmonic ) , 在加拿大作第一次首演 ( 当时加拿大电台 CBC 也将这音乐会作全国转播 ) 。这新发现的协奏曲。 其作品曲风甚似 门德尔松的 e小调 小提琴协奏曲。而 门德尔松在生前, 只遗留这作品的草稿而已( 1842 - 1844 ), 而学者 R. Conductor Riccardo Chailly continues his long association with the Gewandhausorchester with this all-new recording of Mendelssohn. Each work was influenced by the composer’s travels to England and Scotland and presents Mendelssohn at his most programmatic.
Mendelssohn began working on the rarely performed Piano Concerto No. 3 in 1830 (the same time as the other works on this album) though he eventually set his sketches aside. He resumed composition on later trips to England in the 1840s, but never completed the work. Through meticulous research, the sketches have been orchestrated and the composition completed while remaining faithful to Mendelssohn’s style.
Roberto Prosseda, who has recorded two previous albums of rare Mendelssohn piano works for Decca, lends his expertise to this new recording as the soloist in the concerto. Conducting throughout is Riccardo Chailly, a long-time admirer and interpreter of Mendelssohn who frequently records with the Gewandhausorchester.
