Reincarnatus is a band of 7 professional women who started as a group who performed the Medi music in a traditional way. In the meantime came the idea of combining these historic musical instruments (like hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes, shawms, recorders, key-fiddle,bouzouki,fiddle) with modern influences.
It’s great to see and hear how the Medi sound mixes with instruments like: bass, electric guitars, samples and drums. The sound completes with the powerful voices of all members who sing in (Medi) English, Latin and Medi French.
On the release CD of Reincarnatus you will hear 6 tracks which are all self written (except Omnia) The result is a kind of music which we like to describe as Medi Pop Music. Reincarnatus performs at theatres and festivals in The Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Belgium. Occasionally, when requested, a set of Medi, acoustic music is offered.
In October 2007 the band has started with the first full album together with the famous Dutch producer Haro Slok. 'Media Vita' was released on the 2nd of May 2008 with a own label. Soon Media Vita reached the Dutch Album Top 100 charts and became one of the best selling CD's at www.bol.com Since January 2008 the band has two new musicians: Hellen (bass) and Eleen (e.guitars)
