The genre name "crust" was coined by Hellbastard with their demo release "Ripper Crust." That demo also became the "archetype" for how crust hardcore would sound like in due time. Although Amebix are said to pioneer the sound of crust punk, they never actually coined the term or gave their style a name (it was just known as anarcho-punk back in their time.)
Scruff was also in the Apostles, an early UK anarcho-punk band and in a band called Sidewinder.
Reformed in 2007.
