It all started back in 1989 when the guitarist Ove Lundqvist was writing songs and was in need for some keyboard tracks on a recording. He called Thomas Lassar and they began their new collaboration. Pretty soon Morgan Lilly Johansson (vocal), Mikael Palmstom (drums) and Krister Richardson (bass) who was later replaced by David Persson completed the band CRYSTAL BLUE. The first step in the process was to record a bunch of demo-tapes in various studios and then send it to radiostations and to record companies. The debut album "Out From The Blue At Last" came out in 1993. CRYSTAL BLUE was selected for a competition for unsigned bands and was disqualified by a member in the jury. The jury member that disqualified the band was the owner of SMC-Records, and he liked the record so much that he signed the band. CRYSTAL BLUE began the recordings of their second album "Caught In The Game" in 1994. The band had to replace the singer and they found Stefan Nykvist, which at the time was only 17 years old. After the release of the album a new song was recorded for the Phil Lynott tribute album. CRYSTAL BLUE recorded "Cowboy Song" and it was released in 1995. At this time the record company went bankrupt. All band members was at the time working on different side projects and CRYSTAL BLUE slowly fell into a long sleep and was finally buried for good. In may 2002 the guitarist Ove Lundqvist was contacted by an english journalist (Nicky Baldrian) for an interview which also told him that MTM MUSIC was interested in a new CRYSTAL BLUE album. As the band wasn't existing anymore it seemed like bad idea. But since Nicky being so persistent of a reunion of CRYSTAL BLUE the guitarist Ove asked his former members if they where interested in a reunion. After a short rehearsal all members agreed to give it a shot. "Detour" is the comeback of CRYSTAL BLUE which is superb melodic-rock and combines the finest elements of hard rock, catchy melodies and strong song arrangement in the style of TREAT, SWEDISH EROTICA and early CASANOVA!
