- Betwixt & Between by the trombonists J.J. Johnson and Kai Winding. The repertoire shifts between funkified contemporary pop hits and less funky readings of Bach's Chorales and Inventions. This strange combination sometimes gives me a feeling of listening to two different albums but wth if both are good thanks to the studio crew including Eric Gale, Joe Beck, Herbie Hancock, Marvin Stamm, Chuck Rainey, Ron Carter, Leo Morris (aka Idris Muhammad) and Airto Moriera.
