专辑简介
Rik writes: Drowsiness of ancient gardens (1994 Adiaphora 003) by That Summer is, as its name
suggests, a lazy sound for chilling out to. The material is promising but the sound quality does not do it justice. That Summer is David Sanson (piano and vocals) with assistance on this CD from Laurent Delage (cello) and Tony Wakeford of Sol Invictus (vocals, acoustic guitar and bass).
John Marshall writes: This is relaxing and very dreamy with a hint of creepiness provided by the cello. There's not a great deal of variation but this reinforces the theme running through to create the feeling of what the title suggests. That's until you get to 'Winter gardens' (track 10) which holds a hint of aggression. Tony Wakeford sounds unbelievably dreamy on 'Dies Irae' (track 1)! The accented-English and French vocals of David Sanson (tracks 7, 8 & 9) work pretty well and come as a bit of a surprise after so much instrumental music.
