专辑简介
The 1960s were a time of revolutionary activity in the jazz world: a time when free improvisation broke barriers and blasted traditional restraints. Pianist Burton Greene was an important player of the 1960s music revolution, known mostly for his work on the ESP label. This album is the first release of a classic, yet unsung, group that helped blaze the way for others. Its importance stems from the excellent spontaneity of the group, the fine improvisations of Greene and bassist Alan Silva, and the sparkling work of little remembered artists, alto saxophonist Gary William Friedman, percussionist Clarence Walker, and flutist Jon Winter. Green is particularly effective on what he calls a "piano harp, " though his piano work displays a wonderful sensitivity and naivete reflective of the era. Kudos to producer Bob Rusch for rescuing this minor gem from the dustbins. ~ Steve Loewy, All Music Guide
