Paul David Heaton (born May 9, 1962) is an English singer-songwriter. He was a member of The Beautiful South, who disbanded in 2007, and a member of The Housemartins, who disbanded in 1988. He is currently pursuing a solo career.
'The Cross Eyed Rambler' is Paul Heaton's 14th studio album, while being his debut solo effort. The former Beautiful South and Housemartins frontman finds a refreshing direction, allowing his witty and well-observed lyrics take centre stage, backed by the stripped back sound of a four-piece. Often a throw-back to The Housemartins, with the unmistakeable lyrical charm of The Beautiful South - a great listen. Singles include 'Mermaids And Slaves'.
