MIDWINTER is the name of a French band playing symphonic heavy-metal, led by the CHAUTY brothers. Strongly inspired by NIGHTWISH, those musicians from Nantes logically employed a female operatic vocalist in order to enhance their music. To produce their first album "Fountain Of Youth" (2004), the band got some help from Pierre-Emmanuel PELISSON, who is well-known for his workings within the French band HEAVENLY. This album includes fine well-chiselled gems, that reveal remarkable general qualities. Other darker influences can be felt, particularly through death-metal oriented voices. With this first opus, MIDWINTER shows a brilliant calling card indeed. Don’t miss it !
