The album features Kishori Amonkar, a unique classical vocalist and the supreme exponent of the Jaipur Atrauli gharana. She begins the first volume with a very special vilambit composition in Alhaiya Bilawal. It is followed by a drut composition in teentala. The second raga in this volume is Basant Bahar. It is a blend of two major ragas of the Spring. The second volume features raga Vibhas. The artiste sings the meditative notes of the vilambit in bandish. It is a rivetting performance of great devotional depth and musical grandeur. The album concludes with raga Gaud Malhar. This is a blend of the Yaman and Khammaj scales. This is one of the sweetest monsoon ragas rendered skillfulyy here by Kishori Amonkar.
