The Evil Tambourines' Library Nation is an odd amalgam of easygoing, good-humored Native Tongues-style hip-hop (De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest) and slightly ironic, postmodern stream-of-consciousness narratives, which sometimes recall John S. Hall's lyrics for King Missile. The production casts the duo's songs in dreamy, futuristic soundscapes, which helps cover occasional moments when the raps aren't quite up to par.
