This CD presents one of today's most respected young pianists, Konstantin Lifschitz, in rarely recorded works by a great composer. The repertoire consists of intimate miniatures by Beethoven called "Bagatelles," and this disc contains practically all of them. While most pianists have recorded the composer's sonatas, concertos, and variations, the Bagatelles have been somewhat neglected, even by the most famous interpreters of Beethoven's piano music. These are live performances in excellent digital sound. Konstantin Lifschitz is a wonderful young pianist who often gives concerts in the U.S. and Canada, and who has somewhat of a cult following among some piano connoisseurs.
