Sunburned Hand of the Man is based on the East Coast - most of the band members live around Boston, but some are in New York and Vermont. Essentially created out of a short-lived band called Shit Spangled Banner, John Moloney and Rob Thomas formed Sunburned Hand of the Man in the late nineties. Trickle Down Theory was released in 2003 and was only their second title on vinyl (or not on CD-R, for that matter). Considered by many to be one of their best releases, it sees the group using distorted guitars, looped vocals, Eastern melodies, and a dark atmosphere.
