2007 debut from the 6-piece that create kaleidoscopic pop, peppered with trumpets, time hanges, made-up words and catchy, sing-along choruses. They fit nicely alongside Super Furry Animals, The Beta Band, ELO and late 60's psych greats Nilsson, Sagittarius & TheLeft Banke. The band produced the album themselves and recorded it at St. Helen's Catalyst Studio. They set about a voyage of musical discovery using anything and everything at their fingertips! Listen carefully to "Electric Lights" and you might hear the sound of the studio's radiator, which was appropriated as a percussion instrument. Not settling for keyboard strings they brought in a string quartet which offsets their retro-synths and shanty choruses perfectly. *Clearly, the experiments reaped rich rewards - this is a fine, ambitious and fully realized debut. NME proclaimed the album "Crazed Beatles acid pop and psychedelic sea shanties".
