Martin Jondo, half German (father) and half Korean (mother), was born 1979 in Berlin. In the mid 90's Martin got in contact with the belief of Rastafar thereon he adapted the cult of reggae singing as well. Now with his new belief he was seeking his past through the nature, with guitar in his case and his new religion he created his first songs.
Some of his songs from Echo & Smoke date back to when Martin Jondo first started making music - like Just the other Day or Jah Gringo. Others were written just recently. However, all the songs have one thing in common: musical maturity, a vibe, a very unique mood. Martin Jondos songwriting is unique. Reggae? Always. The songs are never just stereotypically covered and include only rare glances at the Jamaican everyday business. This artist created his own universe for him and his message. And its worth to enter his world and take a closer look!
