This is the Warcon Records retail copy of The Meaning In Makeup; some track titles have changed and the retail sounds better than the advance. Geoff Rickley (Thursday) does guest vocals on We Are The Fabrication. While the name "My American Heart" is only a year old, this San Diego based five-piece has been writing and playing together for over three years, formerly under name of "No Way Out." A combination of legal considerations and group consensus that the name wasn't wholly indicative of their act, they chose the new and quickly spreading name, My American Heart. Tireless practicing, shameless self-promotion, and a knack for writing songs that leave a listener wanting more as they hum the catchy choruses aloud, have been the not-so-secret ingredients of their rapidly growing success. When asked why all this attention has thrust this young band into the spotlight "We just give it our all every show," said vocalist Larry Soliman, "My goal every time I step onto the stage is to ensure every person in that room leaves with our music running through their veins." It's working. Reviews in online zines, message boards, and entertainment guides are taking notice of the bands intense stage performances and crowd reactions. The band is now at work for their upcoming label debut full length coming out in the summer of 2005. They are set to record with producer Sal Villanueva (Thursday, Taking Back Sunday) for their next release. A more heavy rock flow in the vein of the Foo Fighters and Jimmy Eat World is what should be expected. Catch them on a nationwide tour taking place February - April, and also all of the 2005 Vans Warped tour. Released May 29th, 2004, the debut self-titled record, recorded with Louie Singh (A Thorn for Every Heart), and Dave Swanson (Letter Kills, A Static Lullaby) is straight forward, simple, yet deviating in many different aspects. "Just to think where this band will be in the next year or so hurts my head, because it's going to be somewhere big. With no band member over the age of 18, not many would consider My American Heart veterans of the rock scene. But the old saying of don抰 judge a book by its cover rings true for this San Diego five-piece. My American Heart already has three national tours under their belt and their 2005 Warped Tour appearance at each show will be their fourth. Having accomplished so much in so little time speaks volumes about the band's work ethic, but to them, it's simply in their blood. "I believe we work just as hard as any other band trying to become successful, you just give it your best and it's true, you get out what you put in," explains vocalist Larry Soliman. Joining Soliman on this journey is Jeremy Mendez (guitar/vocals), Jesse Barrera (guitar/vocals), Dustin Hook (bass), and Steve Oira (drums). The becoming sound of My American Heart is centered on "bringing the rock" with their own inspired and creative flair. "We have a retro rock kind of vibe mixed with our own sound," explains Soliman. "We never ever came out saying we want to sound like this band or that band, we just made what felt natural to us from what we've learned and just went with it."
